A Letter to Our Community From Our Executive Director
On Thursday September 18, I experienced one of the greatest honours of my life — being named Citizen of the Year by the Brockville and District Chamber of Commerce.
To say I was surprised is an understatement. I am deeply humbled and filled with gratitude to receive this recognition in a place I care so deeply about.
Brockville isn’t just where I work — it’s where I’ve chosen to raise my children, grow roots, and give back. This community is my heart, and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of it.
Through my role at the Brockville and Area Community Foundation, I’ve found true purpose. It’s a privilege to support local charities — the lifelines of our community — and to help connect donors with the causes that matter most to them. Every day, I witness the power of generosity, collaboration, and community spirit.
To my nominators: thank you. You’ve given me a memory I will cherish forever.
To everyone who was recognized at the awards — congratulations. Your leadership, passion, and commitment are making Brockville a stronger, more vibrant place for us all.
And to our wider community: thank you for showing up, for caring, and for believing in the power of local.
